Boise, ID, July 30, 2018 – GenZ Technology, a pioneer in the design of agricultural sprayers, today announced that Dr. Kevin Learned, Founder and currently Director Emeritus of the Venture College at Boise State University, was named to the Company’s Board of Directors, effective immediately.
“We are extremely pleased to have Kevin join our Board,” said Charles W. Jepson, GenZ Technology’s Chief Executive Officer. “As we continue to grow, Kevin’s business acumen and understanding of entrepreneurship will be invaluable.”
Dr. Learned has extensive experience as an entrepreneur, academic, executive, and angel investor. Trained as a CPA, he was the co-founder of Learned-Mahn, a Boise-based software company that supplied software to the banking and hospital industries nationwide. Throughout his career, he has been passionate about entrepreneurial ventures and financing. A graduate of Economics from Yale University, Dr. Learned subsequently earned an MBA from The Wharton School and a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Strategy from Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.
Dr. Learned is active in a number of organizations, including Rotary International. He is co-founder of the Boise, Treasure Valley, Capitol City and Gem State Angel Funds and the Boise Angel Alliance. He is also co-founder of Loon Creek Capital Group, which provides administrative services for angel investors, and has invested in or been involved with angel funding of more than sixty companies. Dr. Learned is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Angel Capital Association and Chair of the Education Committee.
