GenZ Technology continues its evolution as innovator with the appointment of new CEO
Boise, ID, April 10, 2018 – GenZ Technology, a pioneer in the design of agricultural sprayers, today announced that the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed accomplished technology executive Charles W. Jepson as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GenZ Technology. Mr. Jepson has also become a member of the GenZ Board. He succeeds Grant Thompson, who served as GenZ’s CEO during the last three years and will assume the role of Chairman of the Board. Mr. Jepson’s focus will be on the company’s strategic product diversification as GenZ enters its next phase of evolution and growth.
Mr. Jepson’s appointment coincides with the company’s natural evolution from a single-product hooded sprayer to its introduction of a comprehensive portfolio of Smart Sprayers designed to meet the needs of row crop growers and spray service providers for higher productivity and reduced labor costs, less drift and fewer spray cycles, and an overall move towards sustainability.
“The timing is perfect for Charles to assume the CEO role,” said Mr. Thompson. “GenZ is entering the growth phase of its evolution and his experience in helping companies at that stage reach the next level makes him uniquely positioned for the task ahead. He has a terrific history of growing companies and returning value to the shareholders. We’re extremely fortunate to have someone with his talent and experience join GenZ.”
“Grant and his team have built a business that has the potential of becoming a game changer in agriculture. The sustainability, higher yields and cost-saving benefits that the Smart Sprayers series offers open up real opportunities for GenZ to generate exponential growth in the coming years,” said Mr. Jepson.
Since 2007, Mr. Jepson has been assisting early stage software companies in all aspects of growth, development, and acquisition. He previously held multiple executive positions with both private and public companies. Early in his career, he worked for Hewlett Packard where he held several executive-level positions in finance, manufacturing, worldwide marketing, and Division General management. Charles W. Jepson has a BA in Economics from San Jose State University and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
GenZ Technology’s mission is to revolutionize the pesticide spraying industry by engineering more efficient, cost effective, eco-friendly spraying equipment designed to improve crop coverage, increase growers’ yields and profits, optimize chemical recapture, reduce pesticide costs, and minimize chemical waste and pesticide drift. The GenZ Smart Sprayer series are designed to meet the needs of row crop growers and spray service providers for higher labor productivity and better efficacy by requiring fewer spray cycles. Our patented technology offers better coverage and a dramatic reduction in drift. The immediate benefits are reduced labor costs, a lower risk of drift-related incidents, and a transition towards environmental sustainability.
